Scott Jackman B.A., J.D., has been practicing law since 2008. During his extensive defense practice, he fought against fraudulent patients, dishonest tortfeasors, and unscrupulous bounty hunters. He loves the practice of law and helping out his clients and the legal community. Scott has served as a “Justice” on UCI’s first annual Moot Court competition, “presiding judge” for the National Trial Committee’s Moot Court Competition, and is a regular scorer for the Constitutional Rights Foundation Mock Trial Program.
Scott looks forward to representing your employers. Mr. Jackman’s personal life is filled with his close and extended family. He loves checking out local museums, beaches, hiking trails, and other amusements in Southern California with his wife and three daughters. When Mr. Jackman is not with family or friends, he will be found with a novel in hand.
Richard Roa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication from the University of Southern California, a paralegal certificate from the University of West Los Angeles, and a Juris Doctorate degree from People’s College of Law.
His practice has included subrogation, personal injury defense and, for the past twenty years, workers’ compensation defense. Richard represents insurance carriers, self-insured employers, and third-party administrators. He has litigated numerous cases at trial and has received several defense verdicts.
In his leisure time, Richard enjoys reading, cinema, and going for walks. Richard is married and has three sons, who are also attorneys.
Jeremy J. Lew obtained his B.S. in Business Administration from California State University Fresno, and later earned his J.D. from Western State College of Law. Prior to law school, Jeremy was a legal assistant for a plaintiff’s personal injury firm where he became familiar with the legal field and decided to become an attorney. After law school, Jeremy handled insurance defense firm representing car rental companies, which broadened his litigation experience and has allowed him to participate in litigation from both sides. Jeremy then decided to bring his talents to workers’ compensation defense where he defends all aspect of workers’ compensation issues.
Jeremy is a big sports fan, particularly enjoys playing tennis, and is an automotive enthusiast. He and his wife enjoy hiking and going to Disneyland, and spending time with their two beloved dogs.
David Cain earned his B.A. from U.C. San Diego and his J.D. from California Western School of Law. David served in the Army Reserve as an enlisted man and as an officer. After an airline flying career, David served nine years with an aerospace defense company in engineering and management. David has been practicing law since 2013. He has broad experience in both plaintiff cases and insurance defense, allowing him to see all angles of a case to provide efficient solutions and successful outcomes.
When he is not working, David enjoys spending time with his wife, Sofia.
Cody earned his Juris Doctorate from Western State University and spent the first two decades of his practice as a civil litigator defending his clients in complex products liability, premises liability and personal injury matters. He has been lead counsel in numerous jury trials that culminated in defense verdicts. Since 2012, his career has focused exclusively on workers compensation matters and he has appeared before all the boards in southern and central California. Cody has lectured on various legal topics for insurance companies, legal associations and has acted as a judge pro temp before the San Bernardino WCAB.
In his free time, Cody enjoys camping, off-road riding, and involvement with his church and community. His favorite pastime is simply spending time with his wife, four sons and dogs.
Michael Doorbar earned his Bachelor of the Arts from the University of Southern California, and later earned his J.D. from Chapman University’s, Dale E. Fowler School of Law. Michael’s background includes representing businesses and individual taxpayers in matters before the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities. When Michael is not with friends and family, he enjoys running, surfing, and spending time outdoors.
Ruth Leshay is a lien specialist/hearing representative with over 15 years of experience in the workers’ compensation industry. She has extensive experience before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board at all northern and southern California venues. Her considerable experience has afforded her an opportunity to acquire a strong knowledge of the law as it relates to liens, negotiations and litigation.
Ruth has one son and a close-knit group of family and friends. She is an avid fan of the theatre and in her free time enjoys hiking and a leisurely Sunday bike ride.
